Fifth Intake (2025-27)

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Sustainable Catalysis welcomes academic and non-academic experts from all over the world to be part of the program as guest lecturers.

Guest lecturers’ participation will ensure the transference of excellent knowledge, jointness and networking, and promote employment opportunities.

For the academic year 2025-2026 (1st year of the 5th intake), the University of Poitiers (France) will host the guest lecturers during the first semester (September 2025 – January 2026) since the students will carry out a 6 months internship during the second semester. Contributions in heterogeneous, homogeneous or bio- catalysis are expected.

For the academic year 2026-2027 (2nd year of the 3rd intake), guest lecturers have three possible host universities during the third semester (September 2026 – January 2027):

  • The University of Poitiers (France) – Heterogenous Catalysis
  • The University of Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain) – Homogeneous Catalysis
  • The University of Aveiro (Portugal) – Biocatalysis

SuCat students will prepare their Master’s thesis during the fourth semester.

Eligibility criteria

Guest lecturers are expected to teach courses or give seminars in their field of competence for at least 4 consecutive days in one host institution (travel time included).

Each guest lecturers will have to teach 2 courses or give 2 seminars at least during the week.

The SuCat Academic Board will pay attention to each application and see if it fits with their minimum requirements:

  • Guest lecturer needs to have a good level in English since it is the language of instruction of the SuCat program
  • Specific attention will be given to applicants who demonstrate ability to teach at a high level and who have experience in his field of competence (either professors from higher education institutions or professionals from the private sector)
  • A guest lecturer paid by another EU funding program (including other Erasmus+ actions) cannot be considered eligible, as each guest lecturer will receive an EMJMD grant from this program.

Guest lecturers’ scholarships

Selected guest lecturers will get a scholarship to cover travel and accommodation costs and pay a remuneration.

The amount of this scholarship is 1 400 €/week for in person lectures.

A “week” is defined as minimum 4 out of 7 consecutive calendar days (travel included). It is not possible to consider 8 consecutive days as 2 weeks.

For instance, you can arrive on Monday, give a lecture on Tuesday (1h30 to 2h), another (1h30 to 2h) on Wednesday and leave on Thursday.

At least two lectures are expected, you can do more if you want.

IMPORTANT : Due to a change of financial management tool at the end of the year 2025, we will not be able to guarantee a paiement of your scholarship right after your seminar. We will likely be able to pay your scholarships in the first couple of months of the year 2026. We will keep you updated on this matter.

Selection of applicants

Guest lecturers will be selected by the Academic Board based on excellence and on Consortium needs according to the specific topic of expertise.

Selected guest lecturers will receive information about logistical aspects at the host institution and about the scholarship they will receive.

Applicants will receive an individual notification of decision. Should a proposal be accepted, the SuCat Academic Board may suggest changes to some lecture contents.
